In the last week of football, we have plenty of teams still fighting for a playoff spot, but there are also two players looking to break individual records. Â Calvin Johnson has already broken the single season receiving record once held by the great Jerry Rice. Â Today, he looks to become the first receiver to reach 2,000 yards. He goes up against a Chicago Bears who are still barely alive in the playoff hunt. Â Adrian Peterson has been amazing this year. Â The fact that he came back from ACL surgery so quickly should be a record on its own. However, he is chasing the rushing record set by Eric Dickerson. Peterson currently has 1,898 rushing yards and needs 208 yards to surpass his record. Â If Peterson gets to 2,000 yards that should be plenty, but this is a guy who lives to show people he can do the impossible. Â So who gets breaks their respective record? Â This is so tough to decide because both men are so motivated to break the records. However, I think that Johnson will get to 2,000 because he is playing a depleted Bears’ defense and only needs a little over 100 yards something he has made look easy as of late. Â I think Peterson breaks the 2,000 mark, but comes up short on the record. Â So, which player breaks history today, who you takin?
