Dallas+Mavericks+v+New+Jersey+Nets+_m7iwEpWccFlJason Kidd could not stay away from basketball for too long.  The recently retired point guard has secretly been in talks to fill the Brooklyn Nets head coaching position.  It would be quite the reunion for Kidd who spent seven years with the Nets and went to back to back finals with them.  Kidd was loved by Nets fans for his intelligent play and ability to make his teammates better.

Most people had Indiana Pacers assistant coach Brian Shaw as a lock for the job, but it looks like he will have competition from a guy who considered playing as Dereon Williams’ backup. Williams and Kidd have a friendly relationship and share an agent.  Kidd would be such an exciting move for the Nets who are still living under the Knicks shadow in New York. Kidd is working with assistant coaches to help him understand more of the coaching aspects of basketball.
