It seems the NFL is not the only organization having problems disciplining players. Â Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston was expected to miss the first half of the Seminoles game today after the quarterback got up on a table and yelled obscenities in the school’s student union. Â Originally, he was only expected to miss the first half of today’s game against Clemson. Â However, after seeing the public opinion to the school’s laughable punishment, Winston will now sit out the entire game.
Winston apologized for his inappropriate action during a press conference, First of all, I want to apologize to the university, my coaches and to my teammates. I’m not a ‘me’ person, but in that situation, it was a selfish act, and that’s not how you do things around here.”
This is by far not the first time Winston has been in the headlines for bad behavior. Â He was accused of sexual assault last season, yet never charged. Â He did not miss a single minute of action for the accusation; he faced zero punishment. Â He has also allegedly stolen crab legs from a local supermarket as well as countless other run-ins with the law. Â Yet, now Florida State has decided to punish their star quarterback. Â Seems a little too late if they were really interested in correcting this young man’s behavior. Â But of course, winning is everything.
