Geno Smith had a very eventful offseason, mostly due to being punched in the face by a former teammate. However, the incident does not see to have caused Smith to harbor any ill feelings against IK Enemkpali and is ready to put the incident behind him. Not that anyone can really blame Smith for it, but the more that he ignores it, the more people will want to know about it.

However, this week, Smith was finally able to return to practice since breaking his jaw. Instead of the media asking about practice, most of the questions were about to the fight and Smith addressed it briefly. He has not released any actual details on the fight or what truly caused it.

The NFL is currently investigating the incident and Smith made sure to bring that up, “There’s still an investigation…It’s not important for me to say anything about it. That will clarify more things than anything.”  With rumors already flying out, it was smart of Smith to refer to the investigation instead of just trying to tell “his side of the story”.

There was one detail that Smith shared that is certainly getting a lot of different reactions. He will not be pressing charges against Enemkpali for what happened and dragging this situation out any further. Overall, everything that Smith said about the incident was really vague and left many questions unanswered.

When he was asked if he paid Enemkpali the money that he allegedly owed him, Smith responded with a very Marshawn Lynch statement, “Next question.” Whether the rumors are true or not, it will be interesting to see how this plays out for both Enemkpali and Smith.
