It is with great sadness that I write about the passing of former outfielder Darryl Hamilton. Â Hamilton was found dead in his home from multiple gun shot wounds. Â Hamilton’s wife, Monica Jordan, was also found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound. Â Investigators believe Jordan shot Hamilton before turning the gun on herself. Â The couple’s 13-month-old child was found in the home, unharmed physically.
Police were called to the couple’s home, located in the Houston suburbs, about a “disturbance”. Â Hamilton spent time with the Milwaukee Brewers, Texas Rangers, San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies, and the New York Mets. Â MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred released a statement about the tragedy before becoming an analyst.
