The Eagles are definitely not sitting quietly this offseason.  After the bombshell trade that sent star running back LeSean McCoy to Buffalo, Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia front office have been busy.

To replace McCoy, the Eagles have signed veteran running back Frank Gore.  Gore may have a lot of miles on his legs, but he is one of the hardest running backs in the league who comes with a much lower price tag.  It was clear Gore was going to need a new home after the 49ers primed Carlos Hyde to be their number one back last season.

After getting burned multiple times in the secondary, the Eagles decided to add some muscle by signing Byron Maxwell.  Maxwell has been a part of Seattle’s Legion of Boom and will add some toughness to the Philadelphia defense.  The NFC East is full of top receivers including Dez Bryant, Odell Beckham, and Desean Jackson, so this was a good movie for Philly.

The Eagles are not just signing new players, but also are re-signing their players,  It was announced today that the Eagles and quarterback Mark Sanchez have agreed on a new deal to keep him in Philly.  Sanchez has had a very rocky NFL career, however, he did well in Chip’s system last year and if the Eagles really are going after Mariota this move will help.  Sanchez can relate to Mariota as a former first round draft pick, and help guide him through his first year in the NFL.
