As if his epic meltdown on CNN yesterday was not strange enough, ex-NBA All Star Dennis Rodman sang Happy Birthday to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.   Further showing his affection for the leader.  Rodman led a full auditorium of North Koreans who were there to watch him and other former NBA players play in an exhibition game.  Rodman’s gesture put a smile on the dictator’s face as he did not expect him to break out into song.   The leader turns 31 today.

This is a trip that neither the NBA nor the United States has endorsed.  Many hoped that Rodman would use his “friendship” with the leader to discuss the possible release of Kenneth Bae, however, yesterday Rodman made it clear, in a very unclear way, that he would not be willing to do that.   Bae is an American citizen who was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor after being detained in 2012 for leading  a tour group through the Northern region of the country.  If Rodman thinks North Korea is such a great nation led by an even greater leader, why does he not just live the rest of his life there and see how “great” life is there?
