It’s always darkest before the dawn, but apparently for DeMarco Murray, he likes the darkness. In 2014, he was the NFL’s rushing leader, selected to the Pro Bowl and named the NFL’s Offensive Player Of The Year. When Dallas wouldn’t pay Murray what he thought he deserved, he moved on to division rival Philadelphia where he failed to produce.  After dismissing Chip Kelly, the Eagles franchise has decided to trade the running back. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Murray will end up in Tennesse next which could be interesting. Despite his lack of production, this trade is shocking after signing a five-year deal with the team.

Murray’s move to Tennessee doesn’t really make sense. Getting him out of Philly will help fix their running back order but was a bold move by Philly. Having to restructure his contract to make him a Titan could make for a salary cap issue if not done properly.  The Tennessee Titans who are coming off an abysmally bad season that  Marcus Mariota couldn’t even help them. The other major drawback for the Titans and Murray is their offensive line. Murray is used to have such a stellar offensive line in Dallas and that was one of the problems in Philadelphia. Sending him to a team with an even worse offensive line would only hinder his production even further.

The blind faith in Murray by the Titans could really backfire on the team. They are assuming that he’ll be able to have a repeat performance of his 2014 season. That was the same idea the Eagles had about Murray and they were sorely disappointed. No matter where Murray ends up, it’s obvious that he should never have left Dallas.  Here’s wishing the best of luck to Murray in his new home. I’m hoping it was all worth it in the end, my friend!
