Mother Nature showed that she is the boss today when she forced Nascar to delay the Daytona 500.  During the 38th lap of the 200 lap race, the race was forced to cease after a tornado warning was issued for the area.  Drivers and fans were advised to take shelter until the warning could be lifted.

This is far from the first time the race has been shortened.  In 2012, rain forced the race to be conducted on the following day for the first time.  Matt Kenseth won a rain-shortened Daytona 500 in 2009.  The tornado warning has been lifted and Nascar is hoping to pick up where it left off at 8:30.  Many of the drivers had some fun while waiting for the race to begin again. David Ragan made a pit stop at Pizza Hut and picked up lunch for his crew and himself!
