There’s a lot of news for the Dallas Cowboys and their fans today. Particularly though, their fans are really getting a treat. In a study conducted by Emory University, the Dallas Cowboys have the best fans!

However, this is not related to just a fan survey, fans opinions or anything really to do with anyone’s opinions. The study was based upon multiple sources such as ticket prices, attendance at the games and the fans general support of the team. The researchers make an excellent point though when they say, “The real quality of the sports brand is revealed when fans support a team through the tough times” which is completely true for not just the Cowboys but for all fans.

While some teams that have been “hot” in the latest few years, they ended up being lower in the study. Most teams have at least a pretty decent following, but what seems to keep the fans coming is the prices. Factors such as social media following were not added into this study which would have been a deciding factor for teams like the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers.

When asked why the Cowboys have the best fans, Manish Tripathi had an interesting explanation. Tripathi credited their success to “The Cowboys have a storied history, a market that loves all forms of football, and a world-class stadium”. Tripathi’s explanation is true because the Cowboys do have a legacy behind them, lots of different avenues that showcase their love for football and then finally the legendary AT&T stadium.

The top 5 in the list is pretty predictable, 1. Dallas Cowboys, 2. New England Patriots, 3. New York Giants, 4. Baltimore Ravens and 5. New York Jets. The full rankings and explanation can be seen here.
