We are all still trying to understand the tragedy that occurred on Friday in Newtown, CT. Â Our hearts are still broken as we try to understand what could drive a person to murder innocent people and children. Â Many of us are trying to find a way in which we can lend a hand to those affected by the tragedy.
All of the sports being played will honor the victims. Â Some will have a moment of silence and others will wear S.H.E.S. on their helmets. Â Giants’ wide receiver Victor Cruz has taken it one step closer. Â Jack Pinto was one of the children murdered on Friday. Â He was a huge Giants fan, especially of the receiver. Â His parents were even planning on buying Jack his very own #80 jersey. Â Cruz got wind of this tragic story and called the parents personally. Â After being personally affected as a parent himself, he decided to honor Jack. Â In Jack’s honor Cruz will be wearing “Jack Pinto ‘my hero'” on his shoe and “This one if 4 u” on his gloves. Â It is a small way to bring the family some happiness in the wake of such devastation. Â We all hope to see some salsa in Jack’s honor today.
