Iowa Energy vs. Canton ChargeThe Mavericks have not done well this season, but at least they made one man’s dreams come true.  Chris Wright was once a star at Georgetown University.  He wasn’t drafted in 2011 and chose to play overseas.  It was there that his life changed when his foot gave out on him.  He went to the doctor and found out that it was multiple sclerosis, a disease that has been known to cause fatigue, poor coordination, and problems with vision.

He was unable to play in the NBA’s summer league, but did get some playing in the D-league with the Dallas Mavericks affiliate.  He shined there and finally got his big chance this week when he signed a 10 day contract after Dominique Jones was hurt.   Luckily, Wright has not had a problem since that one time overseas.   “It’s all a blessing,” Wright said. “This has been a great month for me.”  Chris also welcomed his first child this month, a son named Chris Jr.
