Many reports are coming out today about San Diego running back Ryan Matthews getting arrested last night after getting into a bar fight. Â However, it appears that Matthews was NOT arrested. Â A spokesman from the San Diego Police Department admitted that there was an incident, but Matthews was not taken into custody. Police say there was a scuffle outside of a bar Matthews was allegedly seen at, but was not involved with the fight. Â Matthews tweeted the following out:
Ryan Matthews really should not be going to bars as he tries to resurrect a very disappointing career. Â Matthews only rushed for 707 yards and one touchdown last year. Â Matthews has already suffered two broken collarbones during his professional career. Â With the addition of Danny Woodhead, it is clear the Chargers are ready to move in a different direction. Â Fans have been extremely cruel to Matthews wishing he would get AIDS and die. Â Hopefully this is just a misunderstanding and Matthews can focus on resurrecting his career.
