Athletes make a lot of money and like to spend their money many ways.  Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.k. Sub has decided to use the money he has made in his career to help those who need it more than he does.  Subban  made a $10 million donation to the Montreal Children’s Hospital; no that wasn’t a typo he is donation TEN MILLION DOLLARS. Subban will also become the hospital’s spokesman at different events.

When asked about the donation, Subban said “It is really an amazing feeling to be here. I am proud to walk in the footsteps of my idol Jean Beliveau by giving back to the community and feel privileged to be able to help transform the lives of sick children and their families.”

With the donation, the hockey superstar is also able to create “P.K.’s Helping Hand” which is a fund set up for families who cannot afford treatment.  It is a way to allow parents to focus on getting their children the treatment they need without having to worry about paying for medicine which can be extremely expensive.

Subban has been in the NHL since 2007 and signed an eight-year contract last season worth $72 million. He has spent his entire career with the Canadiens.
