Johnny Manziel got his first start and it went pretty much as bad as it possibly go. Â The Browns were shutout by their in-state rival Cincinnati, 30-0. Â Manziel finished his day 10 of 18 for 80 yards with two interceptions. Â It would have been three, but an offsides penalty cancelled it out.
Now it was his first career start so no one expected a perfect game, but after all the hype and media, you expected to at least be entertained. Â Instead, Manziel was mocked by defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry who sacked the rookie. Â Rey Maualuga and Brandon Thompson joined on the mocking, unfortunately for the Bengals Mualuga’s money celebration resulted in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
