The New Orleans Saints’ players who were accused of participating in a “Bounty” last season, may have their suspensions lifted. The players reportedly had a betting system for every tackle they made, including their playoff run in which they won the Super Bowl. There were some major payouts, including some six-figure bonuses. Reports are circulating that some of the players, including Jon Vilma, will have their suspensions lifted. The four players whose suspensions are up for debate are Jon Vilma (entire year), Anthony Hargrove (eight games), Will Smith (four games), and Scott Fujita (three games). Apparently, a three member appeal committee lifted the punishment. All players who were suspended will be allowed to play this season. Upon hearing the news, Jonathan Vilma tweeted “Victory is mine!” There is no word on lifting head coach Sean Payton’s one-year suspension. This is huge in making Roger Goodell look incompetent. Maybe, he can try to one up this by working out a deal with the referees. All would appreciate that.
