This comes as a surprise to no one including the man himself, however it became official today. Bobby Valentine was fired from manager of the Boston Red Sox. After an absolutely pathetic season, it seems that he was the last piece to be given the boot. The Red Sox finished 69-93 and traded away most of their superstars including Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford, Josh Beckett, and Kevin Youkillis. “I understand this decision … My best to the organization. I’m sure next year will be a turnaround year.” I can’t imagine that the firing of Valentine will help make the Red Sox any better next year. This organization is a big mess. The players walk around like they own the team and firing the manager probably won’t change anything since Valentine is one of the stricter managers. However, the real reason he failed is that his heart is still in New York!
