Everyone that has been to some kind of sporting event knows that there are fans that purely love the sport and are supporters of all fans, then there are the ones that are just complete jerks.

After the Cincinnati Bengals beat the New Orleans Saints 27-10, Christa Barrett was posing for photos with a football, but it was not the original football she wanted. Thanks to the Saints organization, Barrett did not go home empty handed, like she originally thought she would have.

Cincinnati player Jermaine Gresham caught a 1-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter and ran over to the end zone wall with intentions to give the ball to two female Bengals fans, one of which was of course Barrett. While the women were pleading for the ball, they had no idea that a lone Saints fan was just waiting for the right moment.

Right as Gresham was handing over the ball, the Saints fan, Tony Williams, dove in front of the women and snatched the ball. This was just plain dirty and other Saints fans in the crowd even chanted for him to give the ball over to the women but he kept refusing.

Gresham later tweeted his apologies to the other woman, Cara Meadows, and said, “Truly sorry about you guys not getting that ball. I’ll make sure you guys receive something greater for compensation.”

Either it happens more often than we actually hear about or maybe that was just one rude man but just remember: even in competitive sports, manners count.
