alex_rodriguez_ap_imgAnother week, another scandal surrounding Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez.  Just when it seemed that Rodriguez and fans had started to accept each other, a new story is “leaked” to the media.  While Rodriguez has started his appeal to his 211 game suspension, his integrity is being dragged through the mud.  Reports are now surfacing that allege  Rodriguez’s inner circle leaked evidence implicating Ryan Braun and teammate Francisco Cervelli in the Biogenesis scandal.  Braun is currently serving a 65 game suspension, while Cervelli is only serving 50 games.

The original documents, shown in the Miami New Times, had all named redacted, but Rodriguez’s camp uncovered the names to reveal Cervelli and Braun.  Rodriguez reached out to the media to proclaim his innocence.

While many might think that Rodriguez snitched on others to keep the attention away from him, Rodriguez is not the first player to blow the whistle on other players.  Jose Canseco famously outed many superstars including Mark McGuire and Jason Giambi as steroid users.

Ryan Braun has more important problems now that a lawsuit has been taken out against him.  Braun’s friend, Ralph Sasson, is accusing him of defaming his character after helping him successfully appeal his positive test last year.  Braun’s lawyer says the lawsuit is just an attempt to capitalize on Braun’s recent public exposure.
