Maybe some good news for 49ers LB Aldon Smith. Â Smith was recently arrested at LAX after allegedly yelling “Bomb!” at the airport. He was described as belligerent and unwilling to cooperate with authorities. Â An incredibly stupid move and one that could have cost him up to a year in jail.
Police announced today that he will not be charged with a felony, but instead the charge was lowered to a misdemeanor. Â The exact charge is still unknown, but prosecutors are allegedly deciding whether to charge him with falsely claiming a bomb.
What a mess this young talented player has become. Â This is exactly what you do not want to happen once you enter the league. Â Stay humble. Â Stay grounded. Â Never act like you are above the law and allowed to do as you please. It is unclear if the 49ers plan to pick up his contract for next season. Â He is still under contract for the upcoming season.
