Good thing Aldon Smith is getting help because he just got hit with some pretty serious news. Â Stemming from the house party where he allegedly pulled a gun to fire warning shots and got stabbed, police have filed felony gun possession charges against the linebacker. Â Smith faces three counts of illegal possession of an assault weapon. Â When asked about Smith’s recovery, head coach Jim Harbaugh said that he heard “positive” things. Â He is currently facing one count of DUI after slamming his car into a tree at 7:00AM last month.
Smith is looking at four years and four months for the weapons charges, if convicted. Â He also awaits punishment from the NFL for all of these charges. Smith was also named in a lawsuit along with Titans’ player Delanie Walker who hosted the party. Â The man who filed the lawsuit claims that he was shot at their party. Â He last played week two, the Sunday after he was arrested. Â The 49ers were blown out by the Indianapolis Colts, 27-7. Â It is unclear if he will play again this season.
