It was the saddest story in all of sports. Â A little boy was beaten to death, and his father, star running back Adrian Peterson. Â Peterson had only learned a few months prior that he was the biological father of the two year old boy before he met his untimely death. Â The mother of the child left the little boy with her boyfriend, Joseph Patterson, who allegedly beat the child until he was unconscious.
He called 9-1-1 claiming the child was not breathing, but police determined that the injuries were not accidental. Â The little boy passed away in the hospital hours later before Peterson ever got the opportunity to meet him. Â The man accused faces second-degree murder, manslaughter, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery charges. Â He is currently free on $750,000 bond and there is no court date known.
