There used to be this great sport that was played on ice and involved sticks, full pads, and lots of hitting. Sounds pretty good right? Too bad it looks like hockey is something for the history books. It seems like every sport went through a lockout. Most people were horrified with the thought that football could be cancelled, but the NHL has not received the same amount of love. It is pretty surprising because hockey is one of the best sports and one of the only sports that hitting is encouraged. It has been going on for months, but it does not seem like the two sides are any closer to coming to an agreement than they were on day one. Over 500 games have been cancelled through the end of the year and it seems like it will likely result in a full season cancelled. Hopefully the players association and the owners can come to some kind of agreement to get some hockey in.
