The normally overactive New York Yankees have been rather quiet this offseason.  In fact, there was barely any buzz about the team all throughout the Winter Meetings.  Of course, most of the top free agents did not appeal to the Yankees because the top three, Albert Pujols, Jose Reyes, and Prince Fielder all play positions the Yankees do not need help in.  First base is probably one of the most solid positions for the Yankees who have superstar Mark Texiera.  However, the Yankees finally fixed the void that was most obvious to anyone who watched them.  Pitching.  Yes, the Yankees have an all-star ace in CC Sabathia, but after that well not so much.  The Yankees traded top hitting prospect Jesus Montero for a young right-hander named Michael Pineda.  Pineda went 9-10 for the Seattle Mariners this past year.  As if that was not enough, the Yankees also signed the former Los Angeles Dodger Hiroki Kuroda. Kuroda signed a one year, 10 million dollar contract.  The project starting rotation for the Yankees will be: Sabathia, Kuroda, Pineda, Nova, and then it will come down to Burnett, Hughes, and Garcia. Welcome to New York guys!
