Last night, new mom Serena Williams decided to step out and treat a bunch of young girls to the surprise of their lives.  Forty members of the Black Girl CODE program which provides technology education for young African-American girls got to go to a private screening of the new movie “Black Panther”.  The organization is based out of San Francisco and had no clue that Williams nor her husband Alexis Ohanian were planning on showing up despite both organizing the event.

Ohanian comes out first to the young girls before announcing the big surprise that his wife was also in attendance.  The girls went nuts when they saw the tennis superstar.  When speaking to the girls about the what this movie means to her she said, “We’ve never had a super hero movie.  So we’re so excited. I feel like I’ve waited my whole life for this.”  The full video of Williams speaking can be seen here.

Williams joins a slew of other celebrities including rappers Kendrick Lamar and T.I. in paying for kids to go to a private screening of the movie.  The movie is expected to make $250 million globally this weekend.
