When free agency started for Reggie Wayne, it was unclear where he would go. He’s a seasoned veteran, about to start his 14th season in the NFL and it looks like Wayne wants to hang up his helmet and jersey after this season.

Since Wayne has entered free agency, there have been multiple reports that teams have been interested in him. However, one of the rumored teams has finally made a move and signed him, none other than the New England Patriots. If you haven’t been keeping up on your Deflategate news, Wayne used to play for the Indianapolis Colts who played the Patriots during the AFC Championship game which led to the start of this fiasco. It’s an understatement to say that Colts fans are no longer fans of Reggie Wayne.

The news of the deal was broken by none other than ESPN’s Adam Schefter who tweeted,

Currently, there have been no specific details about Wayne’s deal released, but it looks like Wayne is excited to share his new chapter but still knows where he comes from.

A few Colts players have commented on Wayne during free agency and they are looking forward to being on the same field with Wayne again even if he’s in their rival’s uniforms. Colts WR T.Y. Hilton is a close friend of Wayne’s and is excited for him, “It’ll be weird. I can’t wait to just see him out there. He worked so hard to get back.” Regardless of how excited his former teammates are for him, fans all over social media are already losing it.

Hopefully, Wayne gets what he wants and maybe gets another Super Bowl ring too!
