The university may have taken the statue down, but fans have decided to put their own up.  After the horrible scandal involving Jerry Sandusky and the entire Penn State football program, the school did everything it could to distance itself from it. While Penn State may have decided to put former head coach Joe Paterno’s statue in storage, fans of the university have decided to make their own.

A local restaurant in State College has decided to put up a new statue featuring the great coach in front of his establishment.  The statue is expected to be that of Paterno sitting on a bench reading.  It will likely not be ready for at least another year and cost almost half a million to put up.  The original statue outside of the stadium was removed in 2012. He passed away in January of 2012.  Clearly the restaurant’s decision is controversial with many believing Paterno got away with a crime.  What do you think about the resurrection of the statue?
