Arizona Coyotes

Coyotes forward Steve Downie has been placed on injured reserve on Monday as the result of an upper body injury. The nature and extent of Downie’s injury has not yet been revealed but the forward has already missed two weeks. Following Downie’s placement on injured reserve, forward Louis Dominque was called up from the AHL.

 

Boston Bruins

Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller has been placed on injured reserve Sunday as he recovers from a concussion he received in the Bruins game against San Jose on Nov. 17. Miller participated briefly in a small practice on Thursday morning, but will likely miss the rest of the Bruins’ games this week, including their Friday match-up against the New York Rangers.

 

Buffalo Sabres

The Sabres’ Tyler Ennis was sidelined Wednesday as the result of an upper body injury. There was no indication of Ennis’ injury until he didn’t participate in pregame warm-ups before Wednesday’s game against the Predators. Ennis is expected to return to the ice shortly.

 

Carolina Hurricanes

Hurricanes forward Nathan Gerbe has been placed on injured reserve and will be out fou t six weeks due to a lower body injury. Gerbe was injured in the Cane’s Sunday game against the LA Kings, where he received a hit from Kings forward Kyle Clifford and did not return following his leaving in the first period. Gerbe will return, at the earliest, in four weeks.

 

Columbus Blue Jackets

Blue Jackets defenseman Cody Goloubef has been placed on injured reserve as he recovers from a broken jaw he received Nov.20 in the Blue Jackets’ game against the Nashville Predators. He is expected to miss at least six weeks as he recovers, but he still maintains an indefinite return time.

Forward Rene Bourque has been placed on injured reserve on a day-to-day basis due toan upper body injury. The exact nature of Bourque’s injury has not been revealed.

Colorado Avalanche

Avalanche defenseman Brad Stuart remains sidelined indefinitely because of a back injury.

Dallas Stars

Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen is expected to miss the next five-to-seven days as the result of an upper body injury. Lehtonen’s status has been listed as day-to-day.

 

Edmonton Oilers

Oilers forward Neil Yakupov will miss two to four weeks of game play because of a sprained ankle he sustained on Wednesday after leaving the ice during the Oilers’ game against the Hurricanes. Following a center ice faceoff in the second period, Yakupov got his legs tangled with linesman Matt MacPherson.  He is expected to return in mid to late December.

 

Florida Panthers

Panthers goalie Al Montoya was sidelined due to a sore neck and has been listed as day-to-day. Montoya’s injury does not seem to be serious and he will likely return to play shortly.

 

Minnesota Wild

Wild centerman Jordan Schroeder was sidelined on Wednesday as he recovers from an illness. Schroeder is day-to-day and will likely return to play shortly.

Forward Justin Fontaine remains out of play as a result of his knee injury, but has practiced with the team this week. Fontaine’s return for the Wild’s game Friday is unlikely and his next opportunity for play would be on Saturday in the Wild’s game against the Dallas Stars.

 

Montreal Canadiens

Goalie Carey Price was placed on injured reserve and will be out of play for at least a week after leaving before the third period of the Canadiens’ game against the New York Rangers on Wednesday. Price had bent his leg awkwardly while moving across the crease at the end of the second period and will take at least a week to recover.

Forward Brendan Gallagher will be sidelined for at least six weeks as he recovers from his hand surgery. Gallagher underwent surgery to repair two fractured fingers after being hurt in the Canadiens’ win against the New York Islanders on Sunday when a shot from the Isles’ Johnny Boychuk hit his left hand. Gallagher will miss at least six weeks of play but his return remains listed as ‘indefinite.’

 

Nashville Predators

Predators forward Paul Gaustad was sidelined on Wednesday due to an upper body injury. The nature of his injury has not been revealed and it is unknown when Gaustad sustained the injury. He is listed as day-to-day and is expected to return to the ice shortly.

 

New Jersey Devils

Devils defenseman David Schlemko was sidelined on Sunday due to a lower body injury.  Though the exact nature of Schlemko’s injury is unknown, he has described it as minor and is day-to-day; he is expected to return to play soon.

 

Ottawa Senators

Senators defenseman Patrick Wiercioch was placed on injured reserve following an upper body injury he received during the Sens’ game against the Blue Jackets last Thursday.  The exact nature of Wiercioch’s injury has not been revealed and it is unclear as to when he will rejoin the team on the ice. Wiercioch’s next opportunity to take the ice again will be Saturday’s game against the Coyotes.

 

Philadelphia Flyers

Flyers forward Sam Gagner was sidelined on Monday as the result of an upper body injury. He left Monday night’s game early with the injury and is expected to miss a week of play. Gagner’s earliest return would be Tuesday night’s game against the Senators.

 

San Jose Sharks

Sharks defenseman Justin Braun was sidelined Tuesday after suffering an upper body injury. Braun is listed as day-to-day and is likely to return to play soon.

 

Tampa Bay Lightning

Lightning forward Ondrej Palat remains on injured reserve due to a lower body injury he received in early November. Coach Jon Cooper revealed on Tuesday that he is not any closer to returning to the ice. There is no timetable for his return.

Forward Jonathan Drouin remains on a day-to-day basis from an undisclosed injury. It has not yet been revealed as to when he will return to the ice.

 

Toronto Maple Leafs

Leafs goalie James Reimer was sidelined Wednesday because of an undisclosed injury, but is expecting to return to play this weekend.

 

Winnipeg Jets

Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec has been placed on injured reserve due to a significant knee sprain he sustained in Saturday night’s game against the Arizona Coyotes after a collision with Coyotes’ captain Shane Doan. Pavelec’s injury is expected to keep him off the ice through December; there is no time table for his return.
