The Patriots cheating?  Not like this has ever happened before!  The New England Patriots have found themselves caught in another cheating scandal after it was determined eleven of the twelve game balls used in Sunday’s AFC Championship were below the standard weight.  The footballs were inflated two pounds per square inch below NFL requirements.

The investigation is still underway and will take a few more days before it is wrapped up.  The NFL is still unsure of what role the Patriots played in any of this.  Two hours and fifteen minutes prior to game, the footballs are handed to the head referee for inspection.  After that, no one is allowed to alter the balls.

New England head coach Bill Belichick said the team is cooperating fully with the investigators.  Indianapolis head coach Chuck Pagano said he did not notice anything different about the game balls.  While deflating the balls may give in advantage in gripping the ball, making it easier to throw in the rainy conditions, it is unlikely a reason for how the game ended.  Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount ran for three touchdowns on his own, outscoring the Colts who only had one touchdown the entire game.
