Last night Lebron James and the Miami Heat welcomed rival Los Angeles Lakers. This is always a great match up to see the leader of 2000’s, Kobe Bryant, and the new school prodigy, Lebron James. I might be giving James a little too much credit since he still has zero rings, but no one can deny he was built to play basketball. James was reportedly very ill yesterday morning before the game with flu-like symptoms, but decided to play through it… does this all sound familiar? Well for those who do not remember, another player did the same thing. His name: Michael “Air” Jordan. He played in the 1996-97 finals against the Utah Jazz while running a 103 fever. Now this game might not have been quite as important as Jordan’s game, but both players had exceptionally good nights.

Of course both won. Michael Jordan who appeared to barely have the strength to sit up on his own, scored 38 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and one block. He scored the final three points to put the Bulls up 90-86. This is why he will always be the greatest. Most people cannot even change the channel on the television when they have the flu, let alone play 44 minutes of professional basketball. Now Lebron’s night was just as impressive. King James put up 31 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, four steals, and three blocks. This was the second time James has done this in his career. Who is the only other person to have impressive numbers like this twice in their career? Yes, it is Michael Jordan. So is James as good as Jordan? Let’s leave this question up for discussion when James has at least one ring.
