There is no crying in baseball, but apparently Ian Kinsler did not get the message.  Kinsler was traded in the offseason from the Texas Rangers to the Detroit Tigers in the blockbuster Prince Fielder trade.  In an interview with ESPN the Magazine, Kinsler expresses his true feelings for his former organization and they are not pretty.  He told the magazine, “I hope they go 0-162.   got friends, and I love my friends, but I hope they lose their [expletive].”

While that was bad enough, Kinsler pointed all of his hatred at General Manager Jon Daniels, calling him a “sleazeball” and saying he was responsible for Nolan Ryan’s departure.  Many of the Rangers’ players chose not to comment on the situation, but starting pitcher Matt Harrison stood up for his friend.

He said,  “He’s on a different team now. He’s on a team we’re trying to beat.  I don’t want them beating us and going to the playoffs, and I’m sure he was trying to say the same thing.  No matter how good a friend you are, once you step in between the lines, all that goes away. I’m trying to get you out, no matter who you are. He’s going to try to hit home runs off us just as much as anybody would. If you step on the mound, you’re going to try to get your mom out. It doesn’t matter who’s in there.”

While it may “just be his competitiveness”coming out, it made Kinsler look bitter about the trade.  He went from a good team to a team ready to compete for the World Series, it could have been a lot worse.  However, he just made the Tigers vs. Rangers games much more exciting.
