The New York Rangers’ home opener last night literally rocked the house at Madison Square Garden. Filled to the brim with the blueshirt faithful, and a few brave Toronto Maple Leafs fans, spectators were expecting to see the Rangers do something spectacular. Well, they didn’t. Falling 6-3 to the Maple Leafs, the Rangers left fans with an extremely bitter taste in their mouths.

The loss followed on the heels of Saturday night’s 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues. Three games into the season the Rangers are already 1-2, but should this be cause for concern for Blueshirt fans across the country? I think not, and here’s why.

Sure, it may look bad, and feel even worse, to Blueshirt fans that their beloved team is starting the season so dismally, but in reality is this different than how they’ve started any other season?
