The 2018 Winter Olympics are in full effect and we have already fallen in love with 17-year-old gold medalists Chloe Kim and Red Gerard.  It was figure skaters, Chris Knierim and Alexa Scimeca Knierim, however, who made us all saw “Aww”.   Representing Team USA, the married couple performed a short program earlier today that qualified them for tomorrow’s finals.   The timing could not be more perfect as today is also Valentine’s Day and what better way to spend it than competing for an Olympic medal with your love?

Of course, that is not where the cuteness ends.  At the conclusion of their short program, the pair sealed it with a kiss.  Chris also presented Alexa with a piece of red paper cut out like a heart that read “Will You Be Mine”. I mean, you couldn’t write this stuff!

The Knierims are the first married couple to compete in pairs skating since 1988.  They have been skating together since 2012 and were married in 2016.  The pair initially met in 2010 in Wichita, Kansas at a sectional event both were competing at; Alexa was still a solo skater at the time.  The couple already helped bring home a bronze medal for the US figure skating team on Friday.  Good luck trying to top this next year!
