Even with the absence of Heisman winner, Jameis Winston on Bobby Bowden field Saturday night, due to inappropriate comments made in the University’s student union, the Clemson Tigers could not pull out a win. They left their paw prints all over backup quarterback, Sean Maquire, leaving the Seminole offense with a total of NEGATIVE 22 rushing yards after the first half.

Any hope of winning seemed dire for the reigning national champions down 17-10 in the fourth quarter, the FSU defense and special teams in tandem with the Tigers’ dismal field goal kicker and center being the only reasons the Seminoles remained within a touchdown of Coach Swinney’s Clemson team. It was not until a turnover on downs and a quick run for a touchdown in overtime that brought a Seminole victory to Tallahassee. Let’s just say, the game would have never been won without the help of Florida State fans and the home field advantage.

The Tigers leave Tallahassee, a key game in their 2014 schedule, with a record of 1-2, 0-1 in the ACC. Clemson, embarrassed by the Seminoles last year, came for revenge and left knowing they lost, not on account of success by the Seminoles, but due to their own team’s failure. A spot in the ACC title game is still realistic, but Dabo has to pull his team together before playing North Carolina next week. Luckily a defeat over South Carolina at the end of the season could mean redemption for Swinney and his team, in a perpetual drought in regards to defeating the Gamecocks.

At the end of this weekend all fans can agree, Winston is an idiot….and the Tigers choked on their own paw.
