The worst part of sports has to be the injuries.  Watching these players who give their all to sports end up getting injured is incredibly sad and hard to watch. Some injuries stay engrained in our memories, this year, it was Paul George.  George was participating in a Team USA scrimmage and ran down the court in transition defense to catch up to James Harden.  George ran directly into the stanchion behind the basket and his foot went the wrong direction.

It was incredibly difficult to watch and the video of the injury will not be shown on this website.  However, the injury deeply affected George’s teammates as they looked on with tears in their eyes.  George was immediately loaded onto a stretcher and taken to a local hospital.  Doctors announced he had suffered a compound fracture of the fibula and tibia and would have surgery immediately.  Coach Mike Krzyzewski called the players together to announce that they would not continue with the rest of scrimmage.

Players and fans instantly shared their support for George on social media wishing him well and sending him positive thoughts.  He is still sidelined and will likely remain out for the remainder of this NBA season.
